Hawaii Day 1

 Chris being the amazing man he is, qualified this year with his work (ADP Advanced MD), to go to Hawaii!! When we found out we were going we were so ecstatic! Neither of us have been and have always dreamed of going there. Now we got to go and the great majority of it was paid for! My parents and Chris' parents were both so amazing and took the kids for us so we could enjoy our vacation. I love them so much and don't know how we would get by without them. Anyway, the plane ride was pretty long and it is a redeye. But of course we got  no sleep. But we were running on adrenaline! The picture above of the open air lobby was the first thing we saw when we got to the resort. We stayed at the Wailea Beach Resort  in Maui and loved it!

 This was the amazing view from the edge of the lobby. When I saw this it really sunk in that we were in paradise!

After we explored the resort we had a team dinner at Mama's Fish House. Oh my... This was probably the best restaurant I have ever been too. Hands Down! Below was the view when you walk in..well sort of in, it is a open air restaurant and they have their own beach!

 These fine gentlemen are Mike and Nick, some of Chris' friends and co-workers.

 I decided since I was in Hawaii at one of the best seafood restaurants ever I would try seafood. Normally I am not a fan at all. I tried the Mahi Mahi fish and some traditional Hawaiian Pork. I ended up really liking it!! AND I tried RAW TUNA!!! Totally cold and raw. I had to get my courage and concentration together and I closed my eyes, covered them with my hands and put it in. I kept my eyes closed chewing just trying to concentrate on not thinking about how I was eating raw meat. Raw meat grosses me out so much! After chewing a while I was told I could open my eyes now. And I almost threw up. Not because it tasted bad but because I was eating RAW MEAT!!! But I got it together and swallowed it.  And...I actually really did like the taste of it. It was actually quite good. But one piece of raw fish was all I could handle for a night..or the rest of my life perhaps. But I was glad I did it!

 Chris got the short ribs. He along with many others in the gang said these were the best ribs they had ever had. Melt in your mouth good!

 Then we all got dessert. This was Mike's He is excited can't you tell? We got a delicious pie that for some reason I have no picture of. While we were all finishing our dinner we ran into Bill, their big boss, and his wife. They were so sweet. When we were ready to pay our bill (which was the most expensive bill I have ever had for dinner), the waitress informed us that Bill had paid for everyone's dinner and tips! We couldn't believe it. What a giving man! So that was a great surprise for all of us!

After dinner we headed back to the hotel and crashed. We had an early morning ahead of us. But Day 1 in Hawaii=Major success!
