Hawaii Day 4

Day 4 was Sunday. We started off eating breakfast at the hotel. Then we headed to church with a few others. It was really nice. Chris and I decided after church to explore the island and try to find a good beach to boogie board at. We drove to the other side of the island. I would say much of the island is pretty dry and not that pretty, even not to far from where we were staying. But of course the resort area was amazing. As we drove to the other side though, things got greener and prettier! We typed in beaches into the GPS and let it take us wherever. We ended up at this beach. It was in neighborhoods and there were locals there barbequing and fishing. It was a beautiful beach! But not great for boogie boarding. So we hung out for a while.

There were some awesome pieces of wood there and even a lot of petrified wood.

It is kind of hard to see but here the mountains were so lush and green, like in those movies!
After trying a few beaches and not finding any that really had any waves we decided to just go back to the resort and try the beach there. They ended up being great! Chris and I had a blast boogie boarding together and it was really nice to just spend time with he and I.

After boogie boarding we headed back to the room to get ready because we were going to meet the crew for dinner at Mama's fish house again. We reserved it again because we liked it so much!

While we were driving we got a call from our friends who said they would not be back in time for dinner, so Chris and I had our own little date.

Chris couldn't pass up the short-ribs, so he had those again and I decided to try them as well. SO good! It was for sure the richest most melt in your mouth meat I have ever had.

Chris decided to try this dessert. I forgot what it was actually, we ended up not liking it near as much as the pie I ordered again. It was so delicious!

Once again a beautiful Sunset in Maui! As I was taking pictures Chris stayed to pay the bill. It was kind of funny actually, a guy walked by me and I noticed him staring at me. Then about 30 seconds later he came up to me with his shirt now unbuttoned quite a bit and asked me if I wanted him to take my picture. I said I would just wait for my husband. He proceeded to walk up a little hill. I felt like I needed to go talk to him. So I did. He ended up being super nice. He was taking his two friends out to dinner who were getting married soon and could not afford it. Chris came up and started talking as well. He ended up telling us that his wife had left him and his best friend who  was also his dog just died. He was at a really low place. We talked to him for a while and I feel like we maybe helped lighten his day or at least we were someone to vent to. As the Valet was getting our care I had the thought to go and bear my testimony to him and to tell him about the Book of Mormon, and to tell him to think about reading it. BUT I didn't listen this time. I was too scared I guess and it was at an inconvenient time considering the Valet was about to pull up. But that is no excuse. The whole way home I felt sick that I had ignored that prompting. I knew I had ignored the spirit and I was so sorry for it. But although I wish I could go back and do it over again, it was a good learning experience for me. I never want to feel that way again. I have made it a goal that I need to forget myself and follow the spirit. I am thankful for that experience for that reason. The guy we met actually took the picture below. It was a nice Sunday  in Hawaii.
