The Cotton Family: October Part 2

Clara currently LOVES the movie Tangled. It is actually about the only movie she is interested in watching. So when I saw a Rapunzel costume I knew I had to get it for her. She was SO excited, I actually had to hide the costume until a few weeks before Halloween so that it wouldn't be a battle every day. So after I knew what Clara would be I immediately had the thought for Liam to be Pascal, Rapunzels best chameleon friend. So I looked everywhere and didn't find a pascal costume anywhere! Luckily my Mom is amazing and agreed to help me make a hat for him. So I started knitting and made the body of the hat and my mom just whipped up the eyes and eyebrow things and also a little tail! I also decided to just make Clara a wig our of yarn since it would be cheap and pretty easy. I just took a headband and cut long strings of yarn and tied them to the headband. It worked like a charm and she got so many compliments on it!

So bieng the dork that I am I had to take a ton of pictures of them in their cute Tangled costumes. So they are...

I forgot to bring her crown with us but she didn't mind, she was so happy!

I couldn't get Liam to keep his hat on, but I couldn't blame him it was actually a pretty warm day!

It ended up being a game to see if I could snap a picture before he removed his hat.

At the bridge (above) they were playing fun Halloween songs. Clara started to dance like crazy! Wiggling her hips and swinging her hair around. It was so funny! She entertained many people!

eventually she realized there was nothing to be afraid of and she snuggled in a little closer.

Liam was a little wary at first as well.....

But he warmed up quickly to the witch and even gave her a kiss on the hand! What a gentleman! (that is what it looks like he is doing anyway)

I told her to hold on to Liam to make sure he didn't fall. She did her duty faithfully!

In our ward the Primary had a Halloween Carnival, and since Chris was in the bishopric he was invited to come. So we brought the kids, knowing they would love it too! But they encouraged everyone to dress up. SO... We threw together a Tangled ensemble. Chris was Flynn Ryder, I was Mother Gothel, Clara Rapunzel, and Liam Pascal. It was fun! Clara was so excited that we were Tangled characters as well. She still to this day(it is Jan 2012) talks about how Daddy was Eugene and I was Mother Gothel.

Clara got to get her face painted! It was funny to watch her because she was always wary and watchful of whoever was helping her. Then when she saw the camera she would immediately cheese it up for the picture. Oh how she cracks me up!

Later our cute neighbor Kelee ( I am sure I spelled that wrong) helped her frost her cookie.

Here is Clara with our neighbor Justin, they are just about the same age and cute little friends. He was loving his cookie!!

This is Justin's big sister Mary, Clara LOVES Mary so she couldn't be more pleased that they were both Tangled (Clara calls Rapunzel Tangled, 90% of the time)

I can just tell by looking at Clara's face she feels so grown up. (sidenote: Mary's hair is behind her)

Later int he month my cousin Jana wanted to go take some pictures of her daughter Evie who is just a little older than Clara. I couldn't refuse taking more pictures!

Evie decided to try to help Liam put his hat back on, it was actually really funny to watch.

Eventually I helped her get it on for him. And he actually started to keep it on for longer periods of time!

After taking pictures we went to show my aunt Annie all of their costumes.

On Halloween instead of going around the neighborhood I took the kids to my parents' wards' trunk or treat where everyone gives out treats in the parking lot from the back of their cars. It was quick and easy and Clara loved it! My beautiful sister Lacey (Sacey)threw together this Cleopatra costume the night before! She looked amazing!
